Lonny Charles Traylor Obituary

"Lonny Charles Traylor was born on August 18, 1961 in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Moore Lewis and Mattie Traylor. Lonny grew up in Texarkana, Texas alongside his three brothers Ronny Traylor, Albert “Glen”

Traylor, and Anthony Traylor. He graduated from Liberty-Eylau High School with the Class of 1979, and then proudly served in the Cannon Crew of the U.S. Army. Simultaneously, he completed his Bachelor of

Science in Civil Engineering degree program at Prairie View A&M University in 1989.

He found love at a fair in his adolescent years and eventually united in holy matrimony with Brenda Traylor on August 8, 1983. Their love for each other bore two children, their daughter Shalondria “LaToya” Traylor

and son Lonny Traylor II. Upon graduating from college Lonny worked for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) as the Transportation Engineer for Alabama's former 6th and 7th Divisions for 23 years in

Montgomery, Alabama, where he also raised his family.

After retirement Lonny and Brenda moved back to Texarkana to enjoy the rest of their days together. His wife passed away from her long battle with a chronic illness on January 13, 2025, and he shortly passed away

from the same chronic illness along with heartbreak on March 8, 2025. Lonny and Brenda’s wedding vows were taken very seriously when the two recited, “Till death do us part,” as neither had left each other’s side

during any challenge brought to their lives. He will be buried next to his beloved wife of 41 years Brenda Traylor.

Lonny will be remembered for his wits, achievements and problem-solving skills. His hobbies included exploring nature, fishing, traveling, collecting music recordings, watching comedies and model railroading."
