James E. Wanicki, 78, of Texarkana, AR passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at his home in Texarkana. He was born April 12, 1947, in Hammond, Indiana to Francis Joseph Wanicki Sr. and Geneveve (Kaza) Wanicki. He married Thelma (Taylor) Wanicki on July 1, 2019, in Jefferson, Texas.
He was a United States Marine and active in the Vietnam War 1966-1969, an aircraft mechanic, and he received a National Defense Service metal and a Vietnamese Campaign metal. James was also a very loving husband who gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a member of Transformation International Center under the leadership of Apostle Dennis Cook.
James was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank Wanicki, Eugene Wanicki and Fred Wanicki; one sister, Claire Matusaik and one daughter Rhonda (Taylor) Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma (Taylor) Wanicki (Texarkana, AR) three sons, Steven Taylor (Sharon) (Texarkana, AR), Benjamin Mckenzie (Texarkana, TX) and Dewayne Wanicki (Longview, TX). Special Friends: Patsy & Forrest Celestin, June & Rich Micholoski, Joe & Lanny Moseley, Prescilla Teeas, Gail Irving, Frank Osborne and a host of relatives and friends.
