Jamell Roques Walker Obituary

Jamell Roques Walker Obituary

Jamell Roques Walker was born in Texarkana, Texas on June 26, 1982, to James Andrae Toliver and the late Donna Annette Walker, forty-three years ago. He was a member of Greater Heights Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Donald Vaughn, where he attended until his mother, Donna’s demise.

In his younger years he played football for College Hill Junior High School until a sudden change in his ability to perform. After many doctor’s visits and onset of seizures, he was diagnosed with a Germinoma tumor on the brain, which led to treatment at Little Rock Children’s Hospital. There he would later have brain surgery, chemotherapy and a lengthy road to recovery until he could continue his education then at Arkansas High School, graduating with AHS Class of 2000.

Throughout the years Jamell continued to battle many health challenges but also continued to defy the odds. As his health began to decline even more, his long-time friend and classmate, Rev. David Keener led him back to Christ and salvation. Rev. Keener made sure that Jamell understood accepting Christ into his heart. And he responded by lifting his hand, pointing up towards Heaven. This was their sign of always acknowledging God!

He leaves to cherish his memory:
