Theresa Joyce Keel Obituary

Theresa Joyce Walker Keel was born December 17th, 1951 in Douglasville, Texas to Late Barix and Annie Mae Walker and Sister to Late Velma Jean Walker and Alma Jean Walker. Joyce was affectionately known to her grandchildren as Grandmama Joyce and Gigi/Grandma by her greatgrands.


Joyce received education from Booker T. Washington Class of 1970 and in her later years and received Certification of Drugs and Alcohol along with Childcare from Texarkana College. After moving to Texarkana, she joined Sunset Missionary Baptist Church and Later Unity Missionary Baptist Church. Joyce truly loved church and served faithfully and loved God.


Joyce served as a Usher, VB teacher, a Mission Sister, worked with the youth choir and worked in the kitchen. Joyce is a Order of the Eastern Star (OES) Sister's. Joyce was outspoken she loved cooking, smelling good, playing Domino's and her Favorite Quote is "I love my family".


Joyce is survived by 3 childern: Martha (Min. Michael) Massenburg, Alvin Cartrell Jackson, Dereck Jackson. Niece/daughter Terris Walker-Allen and greatniece/God daughter Treesa Oliver nephew/son Phil, extra son Nijui One sister: Martha Faye Smith, six brother's: Dr. Arelious (Hazel) Walker, Eddie G (Lois) Walker, Phillip (Lorene) Walker, Pastor Christopher (LaBricha) Collins, Kelvin (Yolanda) Walker and Rodney Nelson.


Grandchildren: Ta'Neil, Trevion, Whitney, Brittney, Chris, LaDarius, Kamari, Tynisha, KD, Alex, Leah, Chris.


Greatgrands: Keagan, Armand, Wysdom, Chase, Majesti, Cash, Keenen, Thea, Aiyah, Noah, Jackson.


God bless her with 3 ladies she taught of Mother's Rosie Keener, Alyce Miller and Lucille Chapman Smith.


Special friends: Barbara (Bob), Annie, Gerre, Jackie< Marie, Delores and Sandra.


Special daughter's: Terrie, FeFe, Dee,Carla, Shannon, Maria, Shunda, Dee, Shontina.
