Melvin E. Gaffney was born June 10, 1948, in Hobbs, New Mexico to John Henry Gaffney and Marline Walker, both preceded him in death.

Melvin transitioned in life September 9, 2025, at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System due to his long journey of illness. Melvin was the oldest of five siblings and he was a firm believer of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He served in the United States Army Vietnam War (Veteran). Melvin retired from Shriver Children’s Hospital in Sacramento, CA.

Daughter: Robin Gaffney (Dallas, TX)

Brothers: Drexal Gaffney (Fort Worth, TX) and Raymond Gaffney (Napeleon, OH)

Sisters: Doris Brooks (Texarkana, AR) and Shelia Gaffney (Fort Worth, TX)

Along with grandchildren, great grandchildren, special friends and family.
