Obituary for Prinis Charles Smith 


 




Prinis Charles Smith was born on July 11, 1939, and grew up in New Boston, Texas. He was the youngest of five children born to Allen Smith Sr. and Annie Gray Chatman-Smith, both of whom are now deceased.


After graduating from New Boston Central High School, Prinis served in the Military. He dedicated 42 years to working before retiring from Lone Star Ammunition Plant.


In 1963, Prinis met his wife, Mary H. Smith, and they married in 1969. The couple welcomed their only son, Marcus M. Smith, who resides in Douglassville, TX.


Prinis was loved, respected and appreciated by those he met. He was affectionately known as PIMP, SMITTY or PC. He regularly took his boat out fishing, participated in activities such as shooting pool, playing cards, baseball, and bowling, as well as riding his motorcycle and dancing. He had an impeccable taste in cars which he always kept clean!


Prinis departed this earthly life on February 19, 2026. He has left to cherish lasting memories:


Sammie D. Smith (deceased brother), Barbara Jean Smith (sister), Thelma "Bunnie" Stinson (deceased sister), Morris "Mutt" Smith (deceased brother), spouse, Iris "Poochie" Smith (of Las Vegas, NV), and Allen "Joe" Smith Jr. (deceased brother), spouse, Sylvia Smith (of Los Angeles, CA).


Preceded in death by daughter, Wanda Joyce Griffin (New Boston, TX).


Son, David Johnson (Mychelle) Dallas, TX; daughters, Cornelia Gail Griffin New Boston, TX and Carolyn Evett Williams (Steve) New Boston, TX; and sons, Kenneth Wright (Pamela) Wilton, AR and Charles Wade Texarkana, AR.


Prinis is survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who cared deeply for him.
