The Life and Legacy
Jeff worked for Phase 1 Construction company as a concrete finisher until he retired and started his own company, Compton Lawn Service here in Texarkana. By his side for 17 years was his longtime companion and girlfriend Kathy Beckom. Jeff loved to barbecue and it didn’t matter what kind of meat it was on his grill and let’s not forget his other love frying fish and fries.
He is preceded Jeffery L Compton, born on October 2, 1961 to Mary Elizabeth Jones & Johnnie Ray in Texarkana, Texas. He. attended Liberty Eylau High School where he graduated and then joined the United States Army where he completed 4 years of service to his county.
He is preceded in death by his father: Johnnie Ray. Grand Parents: Rosie Lee Duckett & Eli Gatewood. 4 Uncles: Ardis Callahan, Henry Callahan, Edward Callahan and Joe Callahan.
Jeff’s Memory will be cherished and kept alive by his surviving loved ones: 1 Son: Michael Brown (Jessica). Mother: Mary Jones. Companion & Girlfriend: Kathy Beckom. Sister: Jacqueline (Diane) Callahan-Craver (Glen). 2 Brothers: William R. Jones (Natasha) and Rodney W. Jones. Aunt: Euralene Duckett. 3 Uncles: Glen Eddins, Ronnie Ray, Edward (Champ) Ray. 6 Grandchildren: Makylah Brown, Makayla Brown, Travis Brown, Caleb Brown, Hailey Franklin and Andrea Stout. 3 Nieces: Tawny E. Lamar, Teachtra Lewis, Mya Jones. Nephew: AJ Houff. Special Cousins: Betty Lavette Duckett, Rahim Sloan, Mia Hines along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews.
