Ozie Berry was born on March 3, 1945, in Hooks, TX to Julius Hubbard and Gladys Johnson. Ozie was a devoted mother, wife, sister and grandmother whose life was marked by compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.


As a nurse Ozie touched lives through her kindness, gentle spirit, and commitment to caring for others. Her work was more than a profession-it was a calling that reflected her nurturing heart. She carried that same love and devotion into her home, where she was the foundation of her family. As a wife, she stood beside her husband with loyalty and grace. As a mother and grandmother, she offered wisdom, warmth, and unconditional love that will continue to guide her family for generations. 


Ozie Berry was called home February 26, 2026, in Mansfield, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents Julius Hubbard and Gladys Johnson; brothers Charles Hubbard, Carvin Hubbard and Larry Hubbard; sister Gladys Crawford; son Keith Johnson. She is survived by her husband Richard Berry:

Sisters: Cozie James, Billie (Raymond) Berry, Essie (Booker) Jones, Barbara Richards, Joanne (Stanley) Shavers and Shelia Johnson


Children: Sherry (Leon) Huwitt, Rodney Johnson, Belinda Johnson, Kit Johnson


Grandchildren: Ray Stuard, Sherrice Veasley, Jasmin Goodwin, Twanisha Payton, Bianca Johnson, Rodney Johnson Jr., Reme Huwitt and Tevin Nash
