Aaron "Celester" Sowell, III, 66, departed this life on October 29th, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Aaron Sowell, III, was born on November 17, 1944 in Texarkana, Texas, the only son of the late Lazelle Keeling (Sowell) Hill and Aaron Sowell, II. He was raised in Texarkana by his devoted mother and step-father, Leroy Hill. Aaron accepted Christ at an early age and attended the Mt. Orange Baptist Church until he left for college. He attended Dunbar High School, where he participated in the band and graduated in the Class of 1963. He attended Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, from where he graduated with honors. He is preceded in death by both parents and his step-father. He is survived by two sisters, Bonnie R. Hall of Houston, Texas and Quoquise Hill Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia; four nieces: Bherita R. Hall of New Orleans, Louisiana, Krista Penton-French (Andre) of Atlanta, Georgia, Damita Hampton (Allanias) of Houston, Texas, and Toshia Vaughn (Jeffrey) of Los Angeles, California; three great-nephews: Omar Flaherty, Allyja French, and Ashton Hampton; one great-niece, Alaina Hampton; one aunt, Ruth Smith of Texarkana, Texas; and a host of other uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.
