On September 28, 2023, Robert Lee Hamilton Jr. departed his earthly residence after a lengthy illness. He was born March 31, 1961, to the late Robert Lee Hamilton Sr. and Mildred Harper Hamilton.

Robert was a hard worker and worked a few jobs before he landed at Trinity Rail Cars, where he was a loyal employee for 26 ½ years. In his retirement years, because of his desire to be productive, he took a job at Super 1 foods until his health failed.

Robert Jr. affectionately known as “Hamp” by friends and family, was a devoted family man, he was always helping family, whether it was money for college, repairs for cars and homes, a funeral or just food to put on a friend or family members table, Hamp was that kind of guy. He was quiet and observant and would frequently make calls to check on the well-being of others.

February 17, 1997, Robert was united in marriage to Mary Ann Hogan, and to that marriage he brought two daughters, Kenyaka Hamilton and Roberta Hamilton and gained a third, his stepdaughter Ashly Dixon, whom he leaves to cherish his memory.

Robert was the oldest of nine children, and proceeding him in death is his father, Robert Sr. and two sisters, Debra K. Hamilton, and Cheryl D. Hamilton. Also proceeding him in passing are his paternal grandparents Clay Hamilton, Leonard and Pearline Thomas, maternal grandparents Lawrence and Bertha Macon and Frank and Ethel Harper.

Those that are left to treasure his beloved memories are his devoted wife, Mary Ann; loving mother Mildred; his forever daughters, Kenyaka, Roberta, and Ashly; siblings, Gearald Hamilton, Terrence (Myekye) Hamilton, Kathy Hamilton (Fred), Trisha Hamilton (Kenneth), Nakia Hamilton, Cedric (Krissy) Hamilton and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and a special friend, Mr. Harlie (Ruth) Britton.
