James Owens, 71, of Ashdown, Arkansas, departed this life Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at a local hospital.
Mr. Owens was a member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was a Rollwrap Operator at Nekoosa/Georgia-Pacific; and he was a former member of the Harmony Skylarks and the Soul Stirrers.
His parents, Albert Owens and Lily Owens, preceded him in death.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife, Mary "Polly" Owens of Ashdown, Arkansas; four sons, James Owens, Jr. of Texarkana, Arkansas, Curtis G. Winfrey, Jr. of Ashdown, Arkansas, Michael Owens of Lewisville, Texas, and Detrice Winfrey of Killeen, Texas; three daughters, Felecia "Lisa" Covington of San Diego, California, Rhonda Howard of Killeen, Texas, and Leslie Martyr of Killeen, Texas; four sisters, Louise Cooke of Madera, California, Lillie Brisco of Texarkana, Texas, Ida Robinson of Texarkana, Texas, and Shirley Winslow of Texarkana, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, loved ones, and friends.
