Obituary of Bernell Gregory
Bernell Terry Gregory, born on March 3, 1941, to J.T. Terry and Leola Newson Terry in Ashdown, Arkansas, departed from this world on November 22, 2023. A proud graduate of Little River High School in 1959, Bernell dedicated herself to a fulfilling career at Fifteenth Street Elementary School within the Texarkana Independent School District, leaving an ineffaceable mark on the lives of countless students.
An unwavering believer, Bernell accepted Christ at an early age and remained a steadfast member of Charity Missionary Baptist Church thoughout her life. Her commitment to her faith was exemplified through her dedicated service as Vice President and Treasurer of the Usher Board, as well as her active role in the Hospitality ministry. Bernell's involvement in the church was a testament to her deep spiritual connection and her desire to contribute positively to her community.
In Addition to her professional and religious pursuits, Bernell was a loving family member and friend. Her warm spirit, caring nature, and genuine kindness touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Bernell was a truly remarkable soul she was charismatic and with firm presence, embodying love and dedication to her family. As her family cargiver, she selflessly served as a pillar of support and backbone to many, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Bernell was proceded in death by her daughter, Evelyn Gooden; parents, J.T. Terry Sr. and Leola Newson Terry; three brothers, J.T. Terry Jr., Albert Terry and Charles Brown; and two sisters, Bernice Walker and Lela Mcgary. Those left to honor and cherish her sweet memories include three sons, Kenneth Gregory Jr. and Houston Gregory Jr., Albert Terry and Charles Brown; and two sisters, Bernice Walker and Lela Mcgary. Those left to honor and cherish her sweet memories include three sons Kenneth Gregory and Houston Gregory Jr. (both of Texarkana, Tx) and Korey Gregory (Wrightville, AR); one daughter, Vivian Gregory (Texarkana, Tx); ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
As we mourn the loss of a beloved daughter, sister, colleague, and friend, we also celebrate the memories the Bernell leaves behind. Her memory will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her. The warmth of her spirit, the strength of her character, and the love she shared will be echo through our hearts for generations to come. In this time of profound loss, we find solace in the enduring legacy of a woman who brought joy, comfort, ans inspiration to all who were privileged to be a part of her life.
May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her family and friends find comfort in the legacy of love and devotion she leaves behind.
