Joe Hawkins, 76, departed this life Saturday, December 15, 2012.
Mr. Hawkins was a member of New Oak Grove Baptist Church. He worked for General Motors, and he was a chef at the Holiday Inn.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ellen Callahan of Wamba, Texas and John Hawkins of Wamba, Texas.
To cherish his memory, he leaves four sons: Mark (Lucretia) Payne of Greenville, North Carolina, Joe L. Payne of Atlanta, Georgia, Kenneth Payne of Flint, Michigan, and Marlon (Amanda) Hawkins of Flint, Michigan; one daughter Karen (Robert) Gordon of Kansas City, Kansas; one brother, Arester Hawkins of Flint, Michigan; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great nephew, Randy (Janice) Nash, Sr.
His visitation will be 3 p.m.-5 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Richardson Hill Funeral Home; and his funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at New Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Karl Hawkins officiating.
