Obituary of Tonya Lagale Fisher

 Tonya LaGale Fisher was born Saturday, December 28, 1963 to her mother, Earnestine Young and father, Edward Fisher Sr. She accepted Christ at an early age. Sister Tonya attended school in the Detroit and Texas School Systems.

While in high school, she played the flute in the band in Detroit. Tonya graduated from Texas High in 1982. After high school, she took some courses at Texarkana Community College.

Sister Tonya was employed with International Paper Mill for twenty-five plus years as an Assist Operator in the Extruder Department until her retirement in March of 2020.

Although Sister Tonya did not have any natural born children, she loved and absolutely adored her nieces, nephews, and the children of her close friends. She made sure to visit her family in Detroit every year and for special occasions.

She also found fulfillment in helping others through her involvement in the Eastern Star organization.

Sister Tonya departed this life on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Heritage Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her father, Prince Young Jr. and second mom, Vastie Fisher.

                  Mykeye (Terrence) Hamilton of Lewisville, Texas

 

                  Alex (Kalilah) Coulter of Dallas, Texas

 

17 Nieces and Nephews:   Kayla, Shemar (Ta’Najah), Zaria (Beasley), Jalen, Jair, Jael (Young) Tyreik, Mackenzie, Tahj (Fisher),  Alexandria, Victoria, Phillip Jr., Jordan (Dillard), Joseph, Mykayla (Hamilton), Parker, and Alex Jr. (Coulter)

 

Great-niece and nephew:   Brielle and Shemar Jr. (Beasley)

 

Along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and close friends.
