Charlette and I met at TSU. She was a girlfriend’s girlfriend. The times we had and moments shared made her my forever friend. It was a time of growth and love. Despite returning home we kept in contact and Facebook allowed us to follow each other on our journey. The love and joy Charlette had for her family was evident in every post. I have thought of her every day since I heard of her passing but spirit lives on. My deepest condolences and prayers to your family Charlette. Rest in love my friend, it was not in vain!

I’ve known Charlette for as long as I can remember. When we were kids, I used to love hanging out with her. She used to fuss at me like a little brother, even after we got grown. She was always so real, and fun to be around. Cliff and Charlette were made for each other; sorry for your loss brother. I’m honored to have known Charlette and I will miss her contagious confidence and smile . My prayers go out to Wilola, Cliff, her children, and grands.

I will always remember the first time we met. We both got roller skates for Christmas that year and had to be 7 or 8 years old. We were the bright skinned little girls with long hair in our neighborhood. You were my classmate and a true friend who kept it real and always had a smile big as the moon. My heart breaks for your family and I could only imagine the pain. I will see you again in the afterlife my sister.

Q: How would you describe Charlette to someone who had never met them?
