Obituary of Vernon Lewis

Vernon Helen Lewis, 93, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 in a local hospital. Mrs. Lewis was born Oct. 13, 1919, in Texarkana, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of Greater Shiloh COGIC. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Roscoe Lewis. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Clementine Lewis of Killeen, Texas; two daughters, Shirley L. Wilson of Texarkana and Rose M. Williams of Charleston, S.C.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Greater Shiloh COGIC with James A. Tudman officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
