Vertis A. Pryor, 65, of Texarkana, Texas, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at her home. Arrangements are pending with Richardson Hill Funeral Home.
Vertis A. Pryor was born February 27, 1949 to Otis Pryor and Gladys Ivy Pryor in Texarkana, Texas.
He received his education from Dunbar High School in Texarkana, Texas. Later he entered into the United States Army and he also worked for Red River Army Depot.
Vertis accepted Christ into his life at an early age and united with St. James Baptist Church and later united with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He loved music and playing his drums.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Vertis A. Pryor II.
