Mary Henderson, 97, of Texarkana, Texas, departed this life Friday, January 23, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Henderson was born Sept. 11, 1917, in Leary, Texas. She was a homemaker and an usher board member of Mount Orange Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck Henderson. Survivors include one son, Nadell "Dude" Henderson of Texarkana; one daughter, Minnie Faye Henderson Scott of Houston; one stepdaughter, Louiza Fowler of Dallas; one brother, Oscar "Arvinola" Neal Jr. of Compton, Calif.; one sister, Mollie Neal Ashton of Watts, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Orange Baptist Church with Elder Neotis Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body may be viewed 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Online registration is at richardsonhillfuneralhome.com.
