Joe Jackson, 70, of Texarkana, Arkansas, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015, at a local nursing home. Mr. Rufus was born Jan. 25, 1945, in Ashdown, Ark. He was retired from Ashdown Cement Plant and a member of Eleventh Street Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Pearl Jackson of Texarkana; two daughters, Jennifer Jackson of Tacoma, Wash., and Felecia Covington of San Diego; three sons, Joey Jackson of Tacoma, James Owens Jr. of Texarkana and Michael Owens of Louisville, Texas; four brothers, Robert Jackson of Lufkin, Texas, Rozell Jackson Jr. of Texarkana and Lowell Jackson and Willie Jackson of Ashdown; two sisters, Barbara Jackson of Ashdown and Margaret Jackson of Hope, Ark.; seven aunts and uncles; one great-aunt; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Red Oak Grove Baptist Church, Ashdown, with the Revs. Eddie Hill Sr. and Leon Talton officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Online registration is at richardsonhillfuneralhome.com.
