Obituary of Lois Smith

Lois Smith, 95, of Wilton, Arkansas, departed this life Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in Ashdown, Arkansas. Lois Smith was born the thirteenth of fifteen children to the late Louis and Mary Nelson. She attended school in the Oak Grove Community. At an early age, she joined the New Zion Baptist Church. Later, she moved to Kansas City for awhile and then to Hot Springs for many years. In 1952, she moved to Wilton and married George Smith. She moved her membership to Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. O.L. Green, and served as Missionary President for many years. Her parents, husband, and two of her seven children preceded her in death. To cherish her memory, she leaves three daughters Loretta Bennett, Ada M. Williams, and Elnor (James) Johnson of Wilton, Arkansas; two sons, Henry (Rozella) Garrett of Wilton, Arkansas and John (Angelia) Smith of Texarkana, Arkansas; two sisters, Zeola Geiger of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Mildred Nelson of Lockesburg, Arkansas; eighteen grandchildre;, thirty-five great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great grandchildren; four Godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
