Mattie Wesson Bluford, 86, of Texarkana, Texas, departed this life on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, in a local hospital. Mrs. Bluford was born April 15, 1929, in Kansas City, Mo. She was a homemaker and a member of College Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Kiwona Wesson of Texarkana, Joe Lee Cotton of Phoenix, Ariz., Elvin Jr. Coulter of Atlanta, Ga., and Jeffery and Xochilt Wesson of Houston; three daughters, Frankie Ann, Carolyn Thomas George and Ruby Fields of Texarkana; one brother, Frank Wesson Sr. of Flint, Mich.; 29 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be noon Saturday at Holy Temple COGIC with Dr. Rockridge Hannah officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Online registration is at richardsonhillfuneralhome.com.
