Obituary of Franklin Reece

Franklin Reece passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Mr. Reece was born May 25, 1936, the youngest of twelve to Major and Delilah Reece in Marion County, Jefferson, Texas.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Macedonia CME Church in Jefferson, Texas and later united with St. Paul United Methodist Church.
After high school, he pursued a career in the United States Army and Air Force. He was a Vietnam Veteran, who served in the military for 21 years, and was honorably discharged in December 1975. He received a Purple Heart and numerous other honors for services rendered to his country.
Upon leaving the military, he began a new career as an electrical supervisor and instrumentation supervisor for ARCO Alaska, Inc., Prudhoe Bay, Alaska for 10 years. He moved back to Texarkana, Texas in 1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Major and Delilah Reece; five sisters: Clydia Bolden, Corie Smith, Ann Cathrum, Hala Dickerson, and Eulila Jones; and five brothers: K.D. Reece, Cleveln Reece, U.G. Reece, Herbert Reece, and Cleotha Reece.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife of 43 years, Ella Williams Reece, of Texarkana, Texas; one daughter, Dellener E. Reece of Inglewood, California; one grandson, David A. Hayes of Inglewood, California; one sister, Bobbie Winston (Samuel) of Dayton, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, other relatives, and close friends.

The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in Chapelwood, with Rev. Eugene Murphy officiating.
