Obituary of Alton Mixon

Alton Earl Mixon, 84, of Texarkana, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at his home. Mr. Mixon was a native of Waldo, Arkansas, a member of the Deliverance Temple COGIC, and a retired Foreman of Rock Wool. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Bell Mixon and his father, Robert Mixon, Sr. To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife, Birdie Mixon of Texarkana, Arkansas; two sons, Lenward Alton Mixon of Texarkana, Texas and Bobby Earl Mixon of Texarkana, Texas; six daughters, Shirley Mixonof Texarkana, Texas,Norma (James) Henderson of Nash, Texas, Lynn Mixon of Texarkana, Arkansas, Brenda Mixon of Nash, Texas, Dorothy Maxwell of Texarkana, Arkansas, Retia (Michael) Middlebrook of Mandeville, Arkansas; four stepchildren , Clarence Mixon of Grady, Arkansas, Jacqueline (Weldon) Carr of Texarkana, Texas, Willie Mixon of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Cheryl Mixon of Texarkana, Arkansas; two sisters, Emma Williams of Vallejo, California and Mae Joyce Williams of American Canyon, California; one brother, Robert Earl Mixon of Canton, Texas; one special friend, Tina Archer, one special nephew, Walter Reeves, Jr.; one special niece, Gloria Jean Mixon; and a number of other relatives and friends.
