Kerk Douglas Caldwell, Jr., "KJ,"14, of Nashville, Arkansas, departed this life Sunday, October 9, 2011, in Nashville, Arkansas. At the tender age of 14, KJ gave his life to the Lord. As a child, he was in the Williams Memorial COGIC Children's Choir; when he became a teenager, he became an active member of the New Generation Church of God in Christ. KJ was a loving and kind young man, who loved making others laugh. He was a freshman at Nashville Junior High School, and he loved sports--especially football, basketball, and baseball. He was preceded in death by his step-grandad, James; uncle, Mickey L. Lofton; aunt, Alberta Lofton Davis; uncle, Elbert Lofton; uncle, Isaiah Lofton; great-grandma JoAnna Hemphill; and great-grandpa Andrew Hemphill. To cherish his memory, he leaves his parents, Kirk and JoAnn Caldwell of Nashville, Arkansas; two sisters, Sharita Lofton and Kasey Caldwell of Nashville, Arkansas; two nieces, Dariyona Pryor and Kristareé Edwards of Nashville, Arkansas; grandparents, Winnie Lee Lofton of Nashville, Arkansas, Barbara Hemphill of Ashdown, Arkansas, Maurice Caldwell (Karen) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Fred Nelson; aunts, Ruby (Curtis) Spencer of Hope, Arkansas, Stella (George Richard) Shorter of Nashville, Arkansas, Shaunna Hemphill of Ashdown, Arkansas, Nekita Smith of Texarkana, Texas, and Wynne Hemphill-Bell of Ashdown, Arkansas; uncles, Charlie Hill of Nashville, Arkansas, James Richard (Shirley) Lofton of Nashville, Arkansas; special uncles, Billy (Irina) Lofton and Perry Hemphill--all of Texarkana, Arkansas; best friends: LaMichael Pettway, Kevin Brazil, Jr., Lee Scoggins, Jalon Johnson, Terrell Grundy, and Ty Pettway; and special friends, Sarah Stuart and Tyrell Daniels. He will be missed and remembered with love by all who knew him. His visitation will be Friday, October 14, 2011 at Richardson Hill Funeral Home, and his funeral will be Saturday, October 15, 2011 at First Baptist Church Nashville, 415 North Main Street, Nashville, AR 71852, (870) 845-1404.
