Obituary of Alee Johnson

Alee “Dear” Johnson, of Texarkana, Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 10, 2018 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was 94 years old. Alee was a longtime member of Mount Orange Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. She made sure that her three sons were brought up in the church and that they attended regularly. Alee was also a dedicated Sales Associate at Levine’s Clothing Store for over 40 years. She was well-known in the community and did not mind sharing her opinions with you on any subject. She enjoyed cooking soul food, going fishing, sewing, dressing well, and she really loved spending time with her friends. She remained lifelong friends with her neighbor Ruthie Spratt and together they raised their sons to be caring and respectful young men. Alee was the sole remaining sibling of her eight sisters and brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband Zollie Johnson Sr. and their three sons, Zollie Johnson Jr., Bill Johnson and Paul Johnson. She is survived by one nephew, Elston Strong of Little Rock, Arkansas; her daughter-in-law, Cecelia Johnson: four granddaughters, Corey, Antoinette, Jakea and Lauren all of Houston, Texas; one great-grandson, Noah of Rosenberg, Texas; and several first cousins of Hope, Arkansas.
