Obituary of Tarika Hurd

Tarika Hurd, 27, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away July 21, 2012 in Texarkana, Arkansas. Ms. Tarika was born and raised in Texarkana, Texas and attended Liberty Eylau High School. She was employed at Pilgrim's Pride in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and she was a teacher at Faith, Love & Hope of Texarkana, Arkansas, where she was loved by the children and where she taught the staff, family, and friends. She enjoyed working on her and others' cars. She also held bible study at her home. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Quila Franklin and Elbert Allen, Sr.; and her grandmothers, Margie Hurd, Lee Anna Allen, and Aunt Sarah Hurd. To cherish her memory, she leaves two sons, Marquis Bailey and DeCoryan Bailey and one daughter, Jazzmian Bailey--all of Texarkana, Texas; her father, Elbert Allen and mother, Shirley Hurd (Sylvester Henderson)--all of Texarkana, Texas; eight brothers: Gerry Hurd (Marshea Hildreth), Patrick Hurd, David Allen, Robert Allen, Elbert Allen, Jr., Corry Allen, Cedric Allen, and Christopher Dickerson--all of Texarkana, Texas; five sisters: Danyelle Hurd (David Anderson) of Hope, Arkansas, Demtrice Hurd of Texarkana, Texas, Darnisha Hurd (Chris Dickerson) of Atlanta, Texas, Dorothy Allen of Texarkana, Texas, and Beverly Allen of Texarkana, Texas; six special nieces and nephews, DT, Papa, Chris, CeCe, and LeLe; two special friends: Jerkia Atkinson of Dallas, Texas and Timeka Neal of Wake Village, Texas; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
