Reverend Oscar T. Harrell, Sr. was born on September 25,1942 to Arella and Erma Harrell. At the age of 5, Oscar became the son of Samuel A. Rose, Sr. He attended elementary and high school in Texarkana, TX. Oscar finished his senior year and graduated from Marvin Pynes High School in DeKalb, TX in 1960. Oscar served in the United States Army as a Military Police/Tanker, he also served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was employed at Red River Army Depot. Oscar was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord. He was a 3rd degree Mason and a member of Gate City 42. Oscar was a pastor of Harrison Chapel in Mandeville, AR and an associate Pastor at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brother; Lonnie C. Rose. Oscar leaves to cherish his memory: Wife; Mary Harrell, Son; Oscar (Bridgette) Rivers Jr, Siblings; Samuel A. (Marie) Rose Jr, Alice Faye Jones, Erma J. (Roosevelt) Watson, Barbara A. (Earnest) Glover, Joyce M. Rose, Ricky D. Rose Sr., William E. (Yarketha) Rose, James Calvin Rose, Tanya D. (Leroy) Solomon, Naomi Harrell Hogan, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends. Memorial services were held on December 23,2019 at 2:00pm, at the Twin City Church of Christ.
