My memories of my oldest Brother Robert (Bob, as we called him):
Bob loved to read. We would always find him asleep with a book over
his face. He also loved to dance and sing. I remember a time when we were living in Arlington, TX. Bob
came home, from a dance because he had split his pants doing the splits while dancing. I remember when we were younger,
he was scared to death of needles. One time he ran out of the doctors’ office and locked himself
in the car and would not come out for love nor money.
One of his favorite Sarcastic words to say was, “BIG DEAL!”, until the day our Grandmother, Audrey slapped him
and said, “BIG DEAL!” It is funny the things you remember.
Bob was a rambling man. About the time he turned 18 he left home and lived his life hitchhiking across the
countryside. He was a carpenter by trade and would pick up work in every town he came to. He did not stay
anywhere very long. Most of the time we did not know where he was until he decided to show up on our doorstep every once in
awhile. Bob had more stories than anyone I know. He could keep you laughing all day.
About 15 years ago Bob settled in Largo, Fla. Near our Father and sister Patty. Bob was not close with our Dad until this time. I am glad they had this time together. Bob helped with repairs on our Dad’s home during those years. I thank him for that.
A few years after our Dad passed Bob moved to Mason, TN. Where he lived with me and Patty, our sister. I enjoyed the
time spent with him. I appreciate all he did while he was here. He was a big help on the farm. He took on the role of foreman.
He built a tool shed & helped finish other structures around the farm.
Bob later went to live with his son Robert. His illness was worse on him by now. I am so glad he was able to spend his last years
with his son, and family. Thank you, Robert and Jessica for your loving care of my brother.
Bob, I hate that you had to endure such pain in these last years of your life. You are now pain free and I pray you are resting easy. You will always be here in our memories and our hearts. I love you.

Bob was always such a free spirit and loved nature, so planting a tree in his name seems fitting. We love you Bob and you will be missed. Join in honoring their life - plant a memorial tree

I wish we could have one more day to kayak together. Remember when we bought the Wilson ball and tied it to the back of the kayaks? We sure had a lot of laughs! I'm blessed to have been able to spend the time with you that I did. I'm also really glad you were here for Thomas & Janette's visit! Rest easy and pain free now. I love you bro and I will sure miss you.
