Obituary of Mitchell Childs

Mitchell Childs, 51, of Texarkana, Texas, departed this life, Sunday, September 20, 2012 in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Mitchell Ray Childs was born March 9, 1961 to the union of Mrs. Henry Etta and the late Mr. Ulyses Childs, Sr. He was a 1979 Liberty Eylau graduate a United States Army Veteran, and a retired concrete finisher. Mr. Childs accepted Christ early in life and was baptized on May 5, 2012, when he renewed his faith and joined God's House of Prayer under the leadership of Pastor Jessie D. Harris, Sr. He remained a faithful member until God called him home. He was preceded in death by his father, Ulyses Childs, Sr. To cherish his memory he leaves one son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell Ray and April Fulton of Ocala, Florida; two grandchildren, Mitchell Jr. and Ariel Fulton of Ocala, Florida; one Goddaughter; three great-Godchildren; his mother, Henry Etta Childs of Wake Village, Texas; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ulyses Jr. and Judy Childs of Arlington, Texas and Micheal and Brenda Childs of Dallas, Texas; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Joyce Childs of Nash, Texas, Anette and Jessie Harris, Sr. of Texarkana, Texas, Trisha and Willie Gellington of Texarkana, Texas; one special niece, Dana Duson; one great uncle, Carl Toney of Sacramento, California; one aunt, Mary Jean Hamilton of Texarkana, Texas; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 at Richardson Hill Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens, Wake Village, Texas.
