Griefing is our natural response to losing a loved one.Though Bro Evans is gone, the fact that he came is the joy we have in knowing he has led many to come to know the ONE way which leadeth to the true and living GOD. That was his purpose here. Mission Accomplished. If we follow the "man with the plan" as Bro N.L.Evans steadfastly proclamed, we shall meet again in that Great Day. GOD BLESS

I was a little boy and Bro. Evans did a meeting at Piedmont. I had no idea that he was part of my history, having worked with Bro. Mac Wright and my grandfather, MD, to establish Valley View. He quoted the LONGEST series of scriptures and I turned and looked at Bro. Wendell Cregler with amazement. I asked Bro. Evans later how long did it take him to learn that. He said "a long time". He smiled and we forged a lasting friendship. I am grateful to his many sermons, some of which I had committed to memory. I am also grateful for the time I came to Texarkana and worked with him, Bro. Raul and Lloyd Harris in a week long door knocking campaign. He was always down to earth and I never felt like he looked down on anybody. He is one of the Legends and will be sorely missed. May God bless you for your faithfulness and take comfort in knowing he served God mightily.

Sister Evans and family we will continue to keep you all in our prayers. I truly see how God blessed me and my family by allowing us to spend a short time with you all. I will never forget the kindness, love, support, and care we received. I can still hear him ending his sermons with Proverbs 1:24-30 and singing "His Grace Reaches Me." I always loved when he sung "Tis The Old Ship of Zion." Give everyone a big hug for me. Love Jarvis W. Spruill and Family

Bro. Evans, I don't know where to start. It is hard to believe you are gone. I will miss you tremendously. i truly learned a lot from you. I enjoyed quoting the scriptures with you. If women could preach I am pretty sure I would have been a good one if I studied hard. you have touched so many lives and I am sure your legacy will live on. You were faithful till the end. Even when you knew you weren't suppose to be out, but only the Lord knew your heart. You were a trooper. I love you very much. Sis. Evans, You are the Rock of Gilbrater. I know what you went through but you hung in there. Continue to look to the hills which cometh your help. Even though I am going through a lot myself, if you ever need me I am here. You all were like second parents to me. I Love You All! Annette

My family and I extend our condolences to the Evans family. Without your support he would not have been able to accomplish what he did in the Lord's vineyard. Brother Evans truly did his part in fulfilling the Great Commission. He traveled the country preaching the gospel. He didn't care if it was a major metro area or a small country church, he would gladly go and preach the word of God. If a congregation wanted to host a gospel meeting, but couldn't afford to pay him, he would still preach regardless. He labored tirelessly in the work of the Lord and as a result many souls were saved. He touched the lives of thousands of people throughout the brotherhood. I was blessed to be baptized by him in 1973 and being able to sit at his feet and absorb his teaching for several years. I was blessed to be able to travel with him on many of his preaching engagements. After we finished talking about his favorite hobby (Hunting)we talked about his favorite book (The Bible), which he had committed to memory as a result of years of study. His teaching and example will live on in all of us.
