Mrs. Rosie Lee (Granny) Gulley of Texarkana, Texas departed this life on April 7, 2023 (Good Friday) to be with her Lord and Savior. Granny was a devoted Christian who loved her church and pastor. She attended the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in Nash, Texas for many years. Granny was an awesome cook who could make you go slap your mama after tasting her food. Her pastor, Rev. A.T. Jordan, never missed a chance to sit down at her dinner table to get full of her cooking he could barely walkout to leave. Granny had an extremely kind heart and gentle spirit. She loved helping people from all walks of life, and if she had it and you needed it she would give it with a smile. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, and occasionally going to the casino to pull on the slot machines.  Granny loved her family with every inch of her soul and she always said life is all about serving the Lord. She believed in having family around to love and cherish because life is short. Granny was precceded in death by her husband Mr. Lee O.Gulley, both her parents Mr. Wash Newton and Mrs. Mary Reed Newton, 2 beloved sons O.J. Beasley, John Beasley, 1 daughter Judy Lafayette, 3 brothers James Newton, Pate Newton, and Winn B. Newton, 3 sisters Stella Brown, Ollie Turner, and Norma Strolger. She Leaves to cherish her legacy 1 daughter Rose Mary Spearman of Texarkana, Texas, 1 special son Danny Hughes of Hooks, Texas, 13 Grandchildren Christie Page, Mistie Spearman, April Nelson, Marlon Cooks, Kevin Lafayette, Felicia Duckett, Joycelyn Duckett,  all of Texarkana, Texas, Maria Walker, Antonio Moore both of Texarkana, Arkansas, John (Little John) Beasley Jr., Brandy Beasley both of Austin, Texas, Marsha Duckett of Midfield, Alabama, Contenna Duckett of Woodbridge, Virginia,  25 Great- Grandchildren, and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Even though Granny has left us phisically she will always live on in our daily thoughts, prayers and family functions. We know that she has confessed with her mouth and believed with her heart that Christ died and rose and has claimed her eternal reward. We are saddend by her earthly passing but we know this is not a goodbye but rather a see you later on the other side.
