Obituary of Joyce Perry
Mrs. Joyce Perry 78 of New Boston, Texas died July 4, 2023 in a local hospital. Mrs. Perry was born to the parentage of Mr. David James Harper and Mrs. Evia Bailey Kees in Jena, Louisiana on August 12, 1944. She was 1 of 4 children born to this union. She married the love of her life Mr. James E. Perry and joyfully married over 40 years until his earthly passing. Mrs. Perry gave her life to Christ at an early age and devoted her life to serving Him. She was a faithful member of The Prosperity Baptist Church in New Boston, Texas under the direction of Pastor David Hood. She loved her family with every fiber of her soul and cherished her grandkids every moment they were together. Mrs. Perry worked as a production worker for the Samsonite Company and also a member of the Red Hat Society Club. Mrs. Perry is preceded in death by her husband Mr. James E. Perry, both parents and 1 brother Mr. Clyde Harper. She leaves to cherish her memories 2 sons Norman Michael Johnson (Elerie) of Denver, Colorado, John Eric Johnson (Shelia) of New Boston, Texas, 1 brother Eddie Harper (Clara) of Boley, Oklahoma, 1 sister Betty Sullivan (Harry) of California, 7 grandchildren Ashley D. Moore, Lauren N. Johnson, Tyler S. Johnson, Chudney Al-Shami’S, Maleah R. Johnson, Amir J. Ameen, Kamillah Ameen, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Even though our matriarch has transitioned from this earthly body her memories will last forever in our hearts and minds because we know this is not a goodbye but rather a see you later. From our family to you and your family we would like to thank you in advance for all of your phone calls, food, flowers, cards and every other acts of kindness extended to us during time of grief.
